Kyra M. Sedgwick (born Kyra Minturn) is an American actress and television personality. Her fan base is large throughout America and around the world because of her character as lead actress in the TV Series 'The Closer.' Sedgwick was inclined towards art, acting and Broadway from the age of twelve years old. Her mother was a huge interest in the Broadway and introduced her to it. Sedgwick got her first professional acting part in the age of 16 when she appeared on 'Another World,' a TV show. The actress went on to perform smaller roles on television but it was really her dream of making it big as an actor that enticed her. The first film she appeared in was 'Born on The 4th of July. It was a film in which she starred with Tom Cruise in this supporting part. Sedgwick received offers to film more after the success of this one, including: "Singles", 'Heart and Souls"as well as "Phenomenon", and many more. Sedgwick met Kevin Bacon in a TV show named Lemon Sky. She married Kevin at 22. Sedgwick was a star in American TV with her impeccable performing. The Closer, which was a seven-season series, earned many awards including Emmy, Golden Globe and Emmy.
